STEVE

Terms of Service

Effective date: 5 November 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between Shimi Dvir, an individual business operator based in Tel Aviv, Israel (“we”, “us”), and the customer who activates a STEVE account (“you”).

They apply to your STEVE account, the STEVE connection for ChatGPT and Claude, and the support we provide (together, “STEVE”). Browsing the website at usesteve.com doesn’t bind you to these terms.

Before we activate your STEVE account, you must accept these terms. Accept them on behalf of a business only if you are authorized to act for it; that business is then the customer. Otherwise, you accept them for yourself.

STEVE is offered for business use. Nothing in these terms removes any protection that the law gives you and that can’t be excluded by contract.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Accepting these terms doesn’t mean you consent to all the processing that policy describes; it explains the legal basis for each use.

2. What STEVE is

STEVE helps businesses build and use a business brain: a set of operating documents for one business. By invitation, our team builds your brain with you through a guided interview. The STEVE connection then lets ChatGPT or Claude read the brain version loaded into your STEVE account, and STEVE’s support guides, when you ask.

The connection is read-only. It doesn’t change, add to or delete anything in your brain, and it doesn’t take actions in your business. STEVE supplies documents and guides; your AI does the analysis in your conversation. If you keep a working copy of your brain in your own Google Drive or Notion, you make changes there, and those changes don’t update the version held by STEVE automatically.

3. Accounts

4. Payment

Nothing is sold or charged inside ChatGPT or Claude. If your use of STEVE involves a fee, we agree on it with you separately, before you are charged.

5. Your content

You keep all the rights you have in the information and materials you supply to STEVE, including what you tell us about your business (“your content”). We don’t become the owner of your content.

To the extent we own transferable intellectual-property rights in the parts of the brain documents written for your business, we assign those rights to you on delivery. This doesn’t include our materials (section 6) or materials owned by others. We don’t promise that text produced with AI is protected by copyright or is exclusive to you.

You allow us to host, copy and process your content, and to send it to the AI platform connected to your account when it is requested through that connection, only to provide STEVE, to give you the support you ask for, and to protect STEVE. This permission is subject to the Privacy Policy and section 7, and ends when the content is deleted.

Only share content you have the right to share, including any personal data about other people, and don’t include content that breaks the law or anyone’s rights. Don’t include payment card details, health information, government identification numbers, passwords or other sign-in secrets, salary or performance-review information about staff, or information about children.

6. Our materials

STEVE’s software, support guides, prompt templates and the other materials we provide belong to us or to those who license them to us (“our materials”).

We give you a permanent, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, copy and change our materials that are built into the brain documents delivered for your business, for your business, including after your account closes. This includes sharing those documents with your staff, advisers and service providers for that purpose. Otherwise, you may use our materials only while you use STEVE, for your business.

7. Personal data in your content

When your content includes personal data about other people, such as your staff, customers or suppliers, you are the controller of that data, and we process it on your behalf as your processor. For that data:

You decide the purposes of that processing, make sure you have a lawful basis for it, and give the people concerned the notices the law requires. If you need a separate signed data-processing agreement, ask us.

8. Confidentiality

We keep your non-public content confidential, and use it only for the purposes these terms allow. We disclose it only to our people and service providers who need it for those purposes and are bound to confidentiality; to the AI platform you connect, when it is requested through that connection; or where the law requires. Where the law allows, we’ll tell you about a disclosure the law compels. These duties continue after your account closes, for as long as the information stays confidential.

9. Acceptable use

When you use STEVE, don’t:

These rules don’t stop you from retrieving or using your own content, exercising your legal rights, or independently developing products without misusing our materials.

10. Our commitment, and its limits

We’ll provide STEVE with reasonable care and skill, and as described in these terms and the Privacy Policy. We don’t guarantee that STEVE will run without interruption or errors, that it will work with every third-party setup, or that suggestions produced by AI will be accurate.

STEVE provides general business guidance. We aren’t engaged to give legal, financial, tax, accounting, medical or other regulated professional advice. Answers in ChatGPT or Claude are produced by those services, not by us, and they can be wrong or incomplete. Check important outputs before you rely on them, and get qualified advice where you need it. STEVE suggests changes; it doesn’t make them. You decide what to change in your brain and how to run your business.

ChatGPT (by OpenAI), Claude (by Anthropic), Google Drive and Notion are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. What they do may affect whether STEVE works, but that doesn’t remove our responsibility for our own acts, omissions or legal duties. STEVE is independent and is not made, affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI or Anthropic.

Nothing in this section excludes a warranty or duty that the law doesn’t allow us to exclude.

11. Changes to STEVE

We may improve and change STEVE. If a change materially reduces what STEVE does for you, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice, unless the law or an urgent security issue requires a shorter period. You may close your account before the change takes effect and get a refund of any unused prepaid fees. We don’t commit to a support response time.

12. Limitation of liability

Subject to the exceptions below:

Our total liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us for STEVE in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100.

These limits don’t apply to liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or to any liability that the law, including data-protection law, doesn’t allow us to limit. They don’t restrict your statutory rights, including under data-protection law, or the powers of a regulator. Refunds due under these terms aren’t reduced by these limits.

13. Suspension and closing your account

You can stop using STEVE at any time. Disconnect it in ChatGPT or Claude, and ask us at support@usesteve.com to close your account.

We may suspend access only as far as is reasonably necessary to deal with a material security risk, abuse or unlawful use, or a material breach of these terms. Before we suspend, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem, unless the suspension is for abuse or a security risk, or a delay would cause harm or break the law. In those cases, we’ll tell you as soon as we can afterwards.

If you materially breach these terms and the breach can be fixed, we’ll give you 10 business days after notice to fix it before we close your account.

If we stop offering STEVE, or close your account for a reason other than your material breach, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice, unless the law or an urgent security issue prevents it. We’ll refund any unused prepaid fees for the period after closure.

Before we delete the brain documents of an account we close, you’ll have a reasonable opportunity to get a copy, subject to legal and security limits.

When your account closes, the connection stops working, and we delete your data within the periods in the Privacy Policy. Your working copy in your own Google Drive or Notion, and anything already sent to ChatGPT or Claude, isn’t affected by this.

Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 15 and 16 continue to apply after your account closes, as far as they are relevant.

14. Changes to these terms

Changes apply only going forward. We’ll publish the new version here with a new effective date. We’ll tell you about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless the law or an urgent security issue requires a shorter period; in that case, we’ll explain why. If a change materially reduces STEVE or your rights, you may close your account before it takes effect and get a refund of any unused prepaid fees. Where the law requires your fresh agreement, we’ll ask for it. Otherwise, if you keep using STEVE after a change takes effect, the new terms apply from then on.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, subject to any mandatory law that applies regardless of this choice. The courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel may hear disputes about these terms or STEVE. This doesn’t prevent either of us from bringing a claim in another court that has jurisdiction under the law, or you from complaining to a supervisory authority.
