Support
For questions, problems or requests about STEVE, email support@usesteve.com.
We reply as soon as we can. We don’t commit to a fixed response time for general support. That doesn’t change the legal deadlines for privacy requests, or our deletion commitments, described under Data requests.
Before you write
If STEVE seems not to work, ask your AI in a new conversation:
“Check that STEVE is set up and working.”
STEVE’s setup guide helps your AI check the STEVE connection and the brain documents loaded into your account. Its findings may be incomplete. If the problem continues, write to us.
What to include
- The email address of your STEVE account.
- Whether you use ChatGPT or Claude, and on which device (web, desktop or phone).
- A short description of the problem, with the exact error message if there is one.
- When it happened, with your time zone.
If an excerpt or screenshot is necessary, send only the relevant part, and remove unrelated conversations, personal details and confidential material. Never send passwords, sign-in codes, access tokens, payment card details, health information or government identification numbers.
The STEVE connection doesn’t receive your messages to ChatGPT or Claude, or their answers, so we only know what you tell us. If you email us an excerpt or screenshot, we receive what you choose to include and handle it as support correspondence, as the Privacy Policy describes.
What we can help with
- Signing in and connecting STEVE to ChatGPT or Claude.
- STEVE not responding, or your brain not loading.
- Understanding your brain, and how to make a change in your own copy.
- Changes to your account, and closing it.
- Privacy and data requests.
- Security concerns.
- Accessibility problems on this website.
We can’t give legal, financial, tax or other professional advice.
How to connect
You need an activated STEVE account first. Accounts are opened by invitation: you receive an email invitation and choose your own password.
- ChatGPT: STEVE’s availability in ChatGPT is pending approval by OpenAI. Until then, authorized testers use the connection instructions supplied with their access.
- Claude: if your Claude plan supports custom connectors, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address
https://app.usesteve.com/mcp. Choose Connect, and sign in on the sign-in page that shows STEVE, with your STEVE email address and password. Availability may depend on your plan and, in a team workspace, on your administrator.
How to disconnect
You can disconnect STEVE at any time.
- ChatGPT: open Settings, find STEVE among your connected apps, and disconnect it.
- Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, find STEVE, and disconnect or remove it.
Menu names in ChatGPT and Claude change from time to time. If you can’t find the option, write to us.
Disconnecting stops the use of STEVE through that connection. It doesn’t close your STEVE account, disconnect STEVE from your other AI accounts, or delete information already sent to ChatGPT or Claude. To stop all access through your STEVE account, ask us to close it (see the next section).
When your account is closed, STEVE stops answering requests for it, and we delete your data within the periods in the Privacy Policy. Documents already sent to ChatGPT or Claude stay under that platform’s retention settings and deletion controls. We can’t delete those copies, or your documents in Google Drive or Notion.
Data requests
Email support@usesteve.com and tell us what you need. You don’t need a STEVE account to make a request. If you have one, please write from its email address. We may ask for reasonable information to confirm that the request comes from you.
- a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or of the brain documents we hold for your business;
- correction or deletion of personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date;
- deletion of your data, including the usage-log entries linked to your account;
- closing your account; or
- where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, restriction of processing, objection to processing, or a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
We reply within 30 days. Where GDPR applies and a request is complex, or one of many, we may extend this by up to two more months. If we do, we’ll tell you why within the first 30 days.
When you ask us to delete your data or close your account, within 30 days we delete your account details and the brain documents we hold, including earlier versions. Within the same 30 days, we delete the usage-log entries linked to your account. We do not keep separate database backups in this version. Support emails are kept for up to 24 months; ask us if you want them deleted sooner. If the law requires us to keep particular data, we keep only that, and tell you where we’re allowed to.
If your request concerns personal data in another business’s brain, we’ll pass it to that business, which decides on it, and help it respond.
Report a security issue
If you think you’ve found a security problem in STEVE, email support@usesteve.com with “Security” in the subject. Report issues you notice during ordinary use. Don’t probe, scan or test STEVE’s security, including on your own account, without our written permission.
Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use the STEVE website. We aim to meet Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), at level AA.
What we have done:
- The pages use plain, structured HTML, with headings, lists and labelled navigation.
- A “Skip to content” link, and a visible focus outline for keyboard users.
- Text with strong contrast, in both light and dark mode.
- No images, video, animation or pop-ups. Text can be enlarged with your browser’s zoom.
Known limits: the sign-in page is run by our sign-in provider, WorkOS, and the ChatGPT and Claude apps are run by OpenAI and Anthropic. We don’t control their accessibility. This website has not yet had an independent accessibility audit.
To report an accessibility problem, or to ask for information in another format, contact Shimi Dvir at support@usesteve.com with “Accessibility” in the subject.
